We are pleased to assist the University of Oxford on their ELEVATE project
The University of Oxford is conducting research about micromobility modes such as e-cargo bikes and e-scooters.
The Innovative Light Electric Vehicles for Active and Digital Travel (ELEVATE) project aims to explore the role and ways in which micromobility modes help cut energy consumption and carbon emissions while promoting active travel and a healthy lifestyle.
The project comprises e-cargo bike trials in the cities of Oxford, Brighton, and Leeds. The trials are expected to start late May/early June.
We have supplied 5 electric vehicles to the project in Oxford, which include 4 Electric Cargo Bikes and 1 Electric bike as part of the research program.
Looking for reliable and practical bikes our recommendations for these bikes are within the Gazelle Bikes range of electric bikes.
For the cargo bike we have supplied the Gazelle Makki Load, fitted with the raincover accessory. This bicycle has a large cargo area at the front of the bike allowing you to transport children (or cargo) easily and safely on your commute. The bike is fitted with the Bosch performance line motor providing 65Nm of power and a gold battery (400 Wh) offering a range of just over 52 miles from one charge (depending on terrain).
The electric bike supplied is a Gazelle Grenoble C8 HMB, providing the latest technology available on an electric assisted bicycle, the rider will be able to commute comfortably and quickly on this beautifully crafted bike. The bike is fitted with the Bosch Active Line Plus motor providing 50 Nm of power and a gold battery (400 Wh) offering a range of just over 71 miles from one charge (depending on terrain).
To help track the usage and minimise theft risk all of the bikes have been equipped with the PowUnity GPS tracking devices, which we have installed to power directly from the bike.
